EPDM is available in both black and white, and is sold a broad variety of widths, ranging from 7.5 feet to fifty feet, and in two thicknesses, 45 and 60 mils. EPDM can be installed either fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed with liquid adhesives or specially formulated tape.
According to the EDPM Roofing Association, EDPM has been shown to "have the roofing industry's longest average service life. Characteristics that contribute to this superior overall system performance include:
- Cyclical membrane fatigue resistance;
- Proven hail resistance;
- High resistance to ozone, weathering and abrasion;
- Flexibility in low temperatures;
- Superior resistance to extreme heat and fire;
- Thermal shock durability; and
- Ultraviolet radiation resistance
EPDM roofing has also been proven to be highly resistant to wind damage when the correct material is chosen and installed according to manufacturer instructions.

Difficult architectural roof lines are our specialty
We nicknamed the Second Baptist Church in Rock Island "The Cliff" because of its unique architecture. This roof is steep, big, and angular. This was a challenging project with limited access to the rear portions of the building and a high ridge-line at 65ft above the ground. A roof any steeper would be called siding! The Bier Stube in the Village of E. Davenport was one of more memorable commercial projects. What a roof job! We removed 4 layers of existing roof material, including the original roof from the 1800s, and we installed a completely new roof deck!
